Traditional Halloween Night

Since we've moved into our house we have hosted all of our neighbors to come on down to "our corner house" and give out their candy. No sense in all of us staying inside and getting up and down all night when we can all be sitting around a campfire, drinking and eating good stuff and passing out candy - all the while having a good time! It's like a one stop shopping for the trick or treaters- they get 5 or so families giving them candy!

This was also the first year that Jonah "really" got into Trick or Treating! We consider him our "hook up"for the good candy! He wanted to be a farmer for a long time, but then a couple days before Halloween he tells me he wants to be a Ghost! Ummm, no can do-- Mommy is not going out searching and creating a ghost costume when we already have the Farmer stuff! Next year- Jonah! So we practiced saying "trick or treat" and "thank you" so we'd be ready once we arrived on people's doorsteps.

What we did not predict was that we would have to be walking down the middle of the street because Jonah was horribly AFRAID of all the costumes-- he didn't like a lot of the boys costumes (hulk, transformers, etc). He would tell me "no like them, no walk on sidewalk and pull my hand to the street). And the good parent I am, we walked down the middle of the street trick or treating without a flashlight! We did around 7 houses, got some good candy (would have liked a little more), but we'll take what we can get. Jonah did get into passing out candy to those who came up to our drive way, well except the scary costumes - he just ran and jumped to the closest adult he could find to get away.

Oh and Harper- the party animal she is- she was being passed around from person to person, eating and sleeping- as usual these days! Oh and yes, that is a tv off to the side on the driveway- we had the Rangers & Giants World Series game playing......praying for a WIN!
