For 2 months we have been introducing Jonah to friends and family members. And even though we have 2 more road trips to go this month, we thought we would share some of the comments we've heard so far when people first see him. Some are so applicable to any infant and some, well, some are just for Jonah (you'll see). Yes, we're such proud parents.....
People have said:
- Wow, he's so big! How old is he? (don't need to tell us he's big- I carried him for 9 months and now we both carry him around in a carrier!)
- Look at those long legs!
- Where is his neck? (The Dr. swears it's there, even if we can't see it)
- What a great smile!
- Look how his toes curl over (actually it's just the pinky toe)
- He has a great Popeye face (you know one eye open and the other closed)
- He sure is healthy (which is a nice way of saying he's not missed a meal)
- Those are puffy cheeks (we tell them: he's saving food for winter)
- Such soft baby skin
- He's so alert- look at him lifting his head and looking all around
- His body is so long! (thanks to Dad)
- I can't believe he's sleeping through all this noise (yep, we're trying real hard for that!)
- I think his eyes are going to be like Dad's (Mom is hoping for this too & Dad is hoping Jonah gets Mom's eyes- go figure)
- He smells so good (well they haven't been around for those doozy diapers we get occasionally)
- He has such a good grip (he holds your finger for dear life)
- His head is like a bobble head you put on your car
- His face gets really red when he cries
- Wow, he likes his milk, huh? (what gave you that idea: the rolls in his legs, the puffy cheeks, the 13.1 pounds he weighs?)
- I can't tell who he looks like (neither can we-- he's really ours though- promise!)
I'm getting really good at lifting my head. I'm working on lifting my shoulder / chest area too!
My 2 month picture.
This is my pouting face (which means I'm about to cry).
See, told you- I was about to cry! My parents had to learn the hard way too!
Here I go again in my MC (mini car - aka my car seat)- my parents are always on the go!
My first campfire with smore's, I slept, but will make up for lost time much later!
My Dad is training me well- he says this is part of being a MAN! I'm working hard on this one.
