- There is as new header at the top of our Blog! It's a timeline / clock counting the days we're waiting until we go and get our little baby girl from China. Our Log In Date (the date we got officially approved) was 09.07.2007, so the timeline starts there.
- He's mobile! We made our way to OKC for a few days for our 1st annual family vacation. Everyone keeps asking us, "well since you have Jonah now, you probably won't travel, right?" And we respond, "heck no, we're training him young to go with the flow and enjoy new sights and sounds." So as we tried to figure out a place to visit we knew NYC, DC, FL, LA, etc are too soon to visit, so we modified our vacation destinations to something more simple and a little closer to home. So OKC was it.
We visited:
- The OKC National Memorial (probably the best memorial we've ever been to- such symbolism and an exceptional tribute to the victims and families)
- Bricktown (a smaller scale of the San Antonio Riverwalk)
- and walked around OU (yes, we walked around in my burnt orange shirt with Jonah dressed in his UT onsie very proudly and making sure no one was following us. I will say it was a nice campus, even for OU- and we figured Jonah is too little to remember being at OU so there shouldn't be any long term damage).
This was a big week of many "Firsts" for Jonah!
- 1st roadtrip in a car
- 1st trip out of the state
- 1st museum visit
- 1st National Memorial / Monument
- 1st AAA baseball game (Redhawks feed into the TX Rangers)
- 1st college campus tour
- Now sleeping 7 hours at night
OKC skyline
OKC National Memorial- Each chair represents the 168 persons whose life lossed in the bombing. The 9 rows represent the 9 floors of the Murrah building. Each person's chair is positioned in the row that corresponds to the floor on which they worked or were visiting.
NO OU for this family! We snapped the picture fast....
you can never trust those OU fans!
We couldn't resist this one. Now baseball is not one of Dad's favorite sports, but hey if Jonah gets a scholarship playing baseball, we're game.
Enjoying the Redhawks game
Enjoying the Redhawks game- really- he only slept for half of it- the noise, the crowd or music didn't bother him at all. Jonah can sleep through anything and he was up by the 7 inning stretch! Notice the onsie: "Daddy's little wingman."
